My Honest Review of Date Night In Box: Painted With Love

This is the third month we’ve done Date Night In Boxes, and this one was all about creativity. I love that each month is something different. I love that it’s delivered straight to your door. I love that you don’t need to plan anything at all. I love that we can do it in the comfort of our own home; especially on busy months! There are seriously so many positive perks about Date Night In Boxes! If you want to try a month, you can order a box here! Give one a try – it’s so fun! (They also have Kids Night In Boxes!)

Now onto this specific box. I’m going to be completely honest, I love artsy stuff, my husband does not. We checked out the two videos for the painting options, and my hubby wasn’t too in to them or confident enough to try. My hubby has been amazing with doing these each month with me, but this was just not his cup of tea. We decided to save the actually painting canvases for a family fun night (which I’ll post later!!). HOWEVER, we did all the other things included in the packet.

In each box they give you a menu plan for you to make. We have little ones right now, so we usually skip this part because we eat with them. We’re early eaters and can’t wait to eat until after 7 lol. However, if it’s something the kiddos can eat, I make it on our date nights. They include a little snack as well. This one was rock candy. That took us back to our childhood! There are usually at least two activities included. In this one it was the canvas paintings and the Color of Love quiz.

The one thing that we’ve both fallen in love with these awesome boxes is the conversations that come from them. The talking points they give you for dinner spark some conversations that we may never have thought of. The other activity for this box, the Color of Love quiz, was actually fun to do. We learned a little more about each other and talked about if the answers were true or not. It sparked some interesting conversations that we love. After these talks we always feel more connected, which is such a wonderful thing for our relationship!

In the booklet they give you movies to go along with the theme as well. This is if you want to continue the date night after completing the activities in the box. Since we skipped the canvas painting, we decided to pick a movie to watch after our awesome conversations. We cuddled up on the couch and watched The Thomas Crown Affair. It was the perfect way to end our evening!

Much love,

Chef Charley
