Tasty Tuesdays: Quick and Easy Healthy Lunch Options
Just because it’s something healthy does not mean that it isn’t tasty! I decided to compile some of my favorite lunch ideas for those that didn’t have time to meal prep or plan ahead. With little ones at home, making a healthy lunch can take time. However, it doesn’t have to! On the weeks that I haven’t meal prepped … let’s be honest this whole summer I haven’t! Summer has just become so busy, and my schedule is totally off. Any other momma’s out there experiencing that?! I’ve kind of let myself go this summer, but starting this week I’m trying to get back into a routine of healthy food!…

Tasty Tuesday’s: Banana Chocolate Chip Cupcakes
You guys …… these cupcakes take me back to my girl’s trip to Savannah, GA 5 years ago! My girl friend and I went on a Paula Dean tour, and on that tour they stopped at Back in the Day Bakery. We got to meet the founder, and try something from the menu. I chose these! They are sweet, but not too sweet, and they melt in your mouth! They are so delicious and scrumptious! Even so that my girl friend and I made a second trip just for the bakery by ourselves before leaving Savannah! The owner even recognized us from the tour a few days before and came…

This dessert comes in at a close second for my favorite all time indulgent treat (only because Tres Leches cake is too delicious)!!! The dark chocolate mixed with the raspberries … melt . in . your . mouth . delicious! I found this recipe a couple years ago on Pinterest when I was pregnant and addicted to everything raspberry. I even made these for girls’ night once and took an entire container to share into the movies … y’all I was pregnant and didn’t care about the rules! I blame breaking the rules on pregnancy cravings! ( You can find…

Tasty Tuesday’s: Buttermilk Biscuits
Y’all … I LOVE homemade buttermilk biscuits! Every time I bite into one it takes me back to my grandma’s cooking! My family has fallen in love with them, too. They are so easy to make, and I like to make a bunch to freeze for easy dinner nights as well. We use them for biscuits and gravy, sandwiches with shredded meat (BBQ chicken or pork), or as a side for soups and salads. First place a piece of parchment paper on a large cookie sheet and preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt together with a whisk. Make sure…

G-ma’s Homemade Sausage Gravy
My G-ma was an amazing cook. And there are days that I miss her so and wish I could just call her up to ask her a question or run into her kitchen and watch her cook. It’s funny how when you’re younger you don’t realize the special moments you have at the time. I will always cherish the moments in the kitchen with my grandma. In college I lived with her and my G-pa for two years and will forever be grateful for those memories. My G-ma made some seriously delicious gravy growing up! My two favorite dinner nights was sausage gravy and biscuits and fried chicken and gravy.…

Tasty Tuesday’s: Buttermilk Pancakes
Breakfast + Dinner = Brinner! My family really loves breakfast for dinner. Over the years I’ve tried some recipes that haven’t stuck around, BUT this one we have at least once a month! I got this recipe from a family friend years ago and absolutely love it. It’s easy to make, and they turn out so fluffy and delicious! …… And in my opinion homemade pancakes taste better than premade ones! Lol This recipe makes around 22-24 depending on the size. You can easily cut the recipe in half if you are making them for just two people. I like to have extras though and freeze them for breakfast throughout…

Tasty Tuesday’s: Buffalo Chicken Dip
Do you have a go to dish for parties and get togethers?? This dish is my go to! It’s always been a big hit at our gatherings. We love it so much though, that I also make it for dinner!! It’s such an easy recipe to throw together on busy week nights. Lately, I’m all about easy and quick recipes because life can get crazy busy! Something I love about this recipe is that it’s one I can accommodate for me health wise without making something completely separate!!! I serve it with tortilla chips for my hubby, and for me I either have blue corn chips or celery stalks (so…

Tasty Tuesday’s: Healthy Chicken and Veggie Skillet
I am trying to get back into eating healthier! Oh the struggle can be real sometimes! With our family it makes it even more difficult as we have some picky eaters!! (I’m sure lots of you can relate!) Last year I basically gave up sugar and limited my carbs to very little. (I’ll post about that adventure later!!) In a house where pizza, macaroni and cheese, and donuts are weekly staples (I swear my hubby is a 5 year old with his food desires!), it made it extremely difficult. I ended up just making two separate meals; one for me and one for my hubby and kiddos. It was a…

Tasty Tuesday’s: French Toast Bake
One of our friends recently had a baby. I know when I had my two little ones, it was always nice to have some things in the freezer to pull out for nights where I was just two exhausted to think about cooking a meal! When meeting a baby or visiting with momma’s of new babies, I never come empty handed. This french toast bake is a family favorite in our house, and so easy to throw together. I like to keep meals I make for others simple because you never know what they exactly like. Also, this meal could be for a weekend breakfast or a simple dinner so…

Tasty Tuesdays: Molten Chocolate Surprises
Have you ever had a dessert that is just an instant hit with anybody and everybody? This dessert is THAT dessert for me .. as long as they love chocolate they love this dessert! I found a recipe like this in college one day and ever since have been making it for any and all occasions. I know it by heart, and I’ve made my own little tweaks to it through the years. It is a super easy and fast homemade dessert; it literally takes me 10 minutes from start to finish! I made these my first year teaching for all of my 115 8th grade students… that was a…
