    Radiate Positivity

Radiate positivity … emit optimism… be kind. I LOVE this y’all! I’m a pretty positive person … seriously you can ask anyone that knows me. I generally have a smile on my face, always say hi to people (even those I don’t know), and try to see the good in all situations. I’m the kind of person who likes to hold the door for strangers, who allows traffic to move into my lane even when it’s crazy, and who has bought items for people in need because it breaks my heart. I like to make others smile; I guess I have quite a bit of empathy for others around me.…

Positive Body Image.. Learning to Love Yourself

Y’all I haven’t worn a bikini top and bikini cut bottom combo swim suit since I was 18… and even then I felt subconscious. I moved to a skirt bottom with a bikini top early on. To me, my legs had never been beautiful, and my hips were always too wide. And until last year, I wore a skirt bottom and tank top because well .. two kids later and let’s just say those insecurities I had at 18 were way worse after that. If I could go back to my 18 year old self, Id say, “Girl, you are not fat just because you are a size 7 and…

    5 Ways to De-stress

Mental health is a major topic in our world today. It’s important to take care of yourself to be the healthiest version of you. Life can get stressful for anybody. Everyone should have some way to relieve stress. I thought I’d share my 5 favorite things I do to help destress.  Yoga: For years I thought yoga was something silly. I could never relax doing it and always felt I looked silly…. UNTIL I had kids and started running. The first time I did yoga for real, I cried y’all! It was so relaxing. Now anytime I feel stressed, I find 30 minutes to myself, turn off all the lights, and…

Taking Some Time for YOU .. Without Feeling Guilty

I was recently immersed in a conversation with a fellow momma who was talking about finding out who ‘she’ was, and not just as ‘mom’. Let’s face it, we absolutely love being momma’s and being depended on. BUT before babies came along we were different. We had hobbies and a life outside the home. Now we have little ones that take over… and this is not about not appreciating them. BECAUSE WE DO! WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE OUR KIDDOS! However, it is a struggle to find that great balance in life. Of having time for just you when you’re surrounded by lego pieces, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and constant little…

Sometimes You Just Need to Let Loose…

This past weekend Cody and I had a date night planned that turned into a game night with friends … that turned into wayyyyy more fun then I was expecting. Sometimes you just need to let loose. Be crazy. Drink a little more than you thought you would. Dance crazy. Try and make movements like a turkey and turn out to be more like a head bobbing pigeon. Laugh crazy hard. … and yes, you read that last part right. Have you ever made plans, and then just been so tired that you’d rather cancel them, stay home in your pjs, and park yourself in front of the tv all…

    Loving One’s Self

For my first post in this section I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do… Then I read the book, Sharp Objects, and it came to me. At first I wanted to write about how taking time doing something you love (like reading a book) is a way of loving yourself, but then my mind took me somewhere else. Sharp Objects (if you haven’t read it you need to!) is a dark, yet touching story. It’s not a typical book I would have picked out, but I saw HBO was coming out with a new show starring Amy Adams and my interest piqued. My sister in law had it…
