    9 Years of Marriage <3

My hubby and I are celebrating 9 years of marriage today .. almost a total of 14 years! We are 3 years short of spending half of our lives together! Y’all that’s crazy to think !! We’ve owned two houses, had two beautiful girls, supported each other in job changes (so thankful for my hubby’s job now and the fact that I’m able to stay home with our girls), lost family members, and dealt with some obstacles along the way. We have had countless adventures and have gotten to experience life together. We were babies starting our relationship … and in the years we’ve grown together. Our vows we said…

    Date Nights for Any Budget!

Because I love planning (and sharing! I swear in another life I was a travel agent or an event planner!) I decided to compile a fun list of dates to get you inspired to have a good time with your sweetheart! I gave a variety; it doesn’t have to be super extravagant. You could write them down and put them in jar, pull one out randomly to decide the week of, or you could pre plan them. I’ve also picked three ideas and had my hubby pick the one he wanted to do; that way he’s kinda sorta included in the planning process. 🙂 Pricey dates: -Get dolled up and…

    Love Language

My husband and I were 17 years old when we started dating and got married at 22! We were mere babies. We met in high school two young, happy kids. We went through a rough patch in college as most young kids trying to find their way in this world do. Looking back now it was a way for us to grow and understand what we needed and wanted from each other. In the beginning my husband and I struggled with understanding each other. We used to have so many fights about the stupidest things, but it was because we weren’t communicating well. It wasn’t until I came across the…

    Library Visits with My Oldest

This summer has been a fun one so far in the sense that my oldest is now 4 and a half and loves to do ‘big kid’ things. (Her words lol) I’ve recently started taking her to the library in town just the two of us. She gets so excited to go on Saturday mornings when Daddy stays home with her baby sister. It means that she gets quality time with just her momma, AND she gets to pick out her own books. Her love for books is one thing I passed on to her, and I’m so thankful for that. I take her with me, and she gets to…

    My Person …

This girl .. she gets me. She’s my person. (If you don’t know what this is from … we can’t be friends! Just kidding!) In Grey’s Anatomy the main character, Meredith, has a person who just gets her and understands her. Christina is her person. She just completely and utterly understands the crazy layers that Meredith has, and there is ZERO judgement from Christina. My person .. my Michelle .. she totally and utterly gets me… and has ZERO judgement for anything about me. She accepts me for who I am and knows my deepest, darkest secrets. We met in high school, and became extremely close in college. As we…

Sometimes You Just Need to Let Loose…

This past weekend Cody and I had a date night planned that turned into a game night with friends … that turned into wayyyyy more fun then I was expecting. Sometimes you just need to let loose. Be crazy. Drink a little more than you thought you would. Dance crazy. Try and make movements like a turkey and turn out to be more like a head bobbing pigeon. Laugh crazy hard. … and yes, you read that last part right. Have you ever made plans, and then just been so tired that you’d rather cancel them, stay home in your pjs, and park yourself in front of the tv all…

The True Meaning of Memorial Day

This past Monday was Memorial Day. A lot of people have cookouts and get-togethers to celebrate the American holiday. People often use the holiday to mark the beginning of summer. It is the start of the summer, and it is a good day to celebrate as people are off of work. I don’t know if many people know the true meaning, though. Memorial Day is a day observed to remember those soldiers who lost their lives fighting for our country and freedom. They are the ones that are no longer with us. As a kid I knew it was a holiday to celebrate soldiers and freedom, but not necessarily the…

    Creating Family Traditions

When I think of traditions I often think of the holidays. For instance, the day after Thanksgiving we have a tradition of listening to holiday music and sipping hot chocolate while decorating the Christmas tree. My husband and I also have a tradition of watching “It’s a Wonderful Life” on Christmas night. However, a tradition doesn’t have to be on a holiday. It can be any time of the year and be whatever you want it to be. I’ve read about a family that has a tradition of a “Yes” day every year where they say yes to the kids for whatever they want that specific day. For instance, they…

The Royal Wedding’s Got Me Like …

The royal wedding’s got me like …. ahhhh …. amazing …. speechless …. emotional …. reminiscent …. happy. This past Saturday was the famous royal wedding of Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle. I’ve watched Suits for years so I knew who Meghan was before she started dating bad boy charmer Prince Harry. I’m sorry, I don’t care who you are and what you say, their love story is a fairy tale! If you look at each of their lives separately, it’s like they were seriously made for one another. At 11 years old Meghan stood for equality for women, she’s done some amazing things in Africa being an ambassador…

Date Night In: ‘Fancy’ Movie Night

With two little ones at home, going out is sometimes just not doable. It’s always nice when grandma and grandpa like to take them, but that’s not all the time! Our kiddos are pretty good at going to bed early, though (can I get an amen?!), and that makes it a bit easier to do! I thought I’d share one of our most recent date nights spent at home. While my hubby was doing part of the bedtime routine, I quickly set up the mood (unbeknownst to him!) You’ll never believe, but I used our girls’ tent building toys to set this up! It made it feel a bit more…
